Searian's paws ached as he stumbled back into Ryker's den, scattered images of bloodied bodies torturing his brain. He had been watching Wren for days now, just close enough to carefully observe how she killed her victims. Each death made his stomach turn. Of course, he had seen death before, but not like this. Every night he would return, sick to his stomach as memories and images swarmed his mind. This time was no different. Taking a deep breath, the large brown loon slumped over onto his side, panting. His claws itched as he pictured Wren's newest victim, their throat slashed aggressively open. Anxiously, he shook his head. As his eyes began to close, he felt his brain numb, the body vanishing.

"Searian! Searian!" Searian instantly shot into an upright position, his eyes scanning from the speaker. "Come on out! You'll never believe what I found!" The saber-loon smirked as he recognized the voice.
"Eoni," he breathed, stretching. "What are you doing here this early?" Cautiously, Searian stalked out of the den, his whiskers twitching. Eoni bounded in front of him, smirking.
"Doesn't matter. I found this thing over in the...place." They smiled, beaming with pride. He narrowed his eyes.
"The place? What are you talking about?" Searian inquired, his eyes gleaming.
"You know, the place. The one no one but us knows about." They snickered, the smaller loon trotting around him. He felt his pelt flush with embarrassment. Of course, Eoni had met that place. That was only place the two had found as loonlings and had kept a secret since.
"You found something there?" He cocked his head. Eoni's heads all nodded.
"Yeah, but you'll have to see it for yourself." They snorted, motioning him after them. His heart suddenly plummeted as he took a step after Eoni.
"I-I can't...I promised Mikaya and Zanzibar-" Eoni froze.
"It's really important, Searian. Just come on!" They said flatly, tugging him. "I'm sure they'll be here when we get back."
"And if we're not?" Searian asked icily.
"Then we'll just have to see." They stated playfully nudging him before springing away. Taking a deep breath, Searian charged after them.
    "Race you!"

By the time they had reached the clearing, night had already conquered the skies.
"Beat you!" Eoni sneered, gently tapping Searian in the side.
"Only because I let you." He grumbled, shoving them back.
"Yeah right." They said flatly, nudging past the larger loon. "Now come on, it isn't far from here." Paw tingling with anticipation, Searian leaped after the four-headed loon. Then, without warning, Eoni vanished into the grasses. In horror, Searian frantically scanned the clearing, but they were nowhere to be seen.
"Eoni! Eoni!" He called, but there was no answer. "This isn't funny." Just as he prepared to search the clearing's entrance, the faint sound of laughter caught his ears. Eoni! His mind screamed. Silently, he dropped into a crouch and stalked forward, his belly fur slipping across the ground. The sound of laughter continued to flood into his ears as he prowled closer until suddenly, it stopped altogether. Whiskers twitching in confusion, Searian rolled back onto his haunches, wind tearing at his pelt. Before he could register the movement, something crashed into him, knocking him off balance. Claws met his back before water drenched his pelt as he tumbled backward, fear shrinking his pupils as he clawed at the deadly substance. Bubbles floated out of his lungs as he stared at the surface, the pale light of the moon meeting his face. As he continued to sink, he began to make out a dark figure, urging him to move. He could almost hear their cries of protest as something began to tug at his scruff. They're saving me...He thought, trembling. Suddenly, his head tore through the surface, air instantly coursing into his lungs. Within another moment, he was scrambling up a rocky bank gasping for a breath.
"Searian! You almost drowned!" He barely registered Eoni's voice as water sloshed around in his ears. Panting, he shook his head.
"You were the one that pushed me." He grumbled coldly, shaking his soaked pelt dry. Eoni's muscles tensed as they faced him.
"I didn't push you...You fell in. I watched you. I rescued you." They said in disbelief. Searian's pelt suddenly bristled.
"I know I was pushed, Eoni. Are you sure none of the loonlings followed us?" Eoni nodded.
"Certain." They stated before shaking their heads. "I'm sure it was nothing. Just follow me." Carefully, Eoni crept further into the rocks, Searian tight on their heels. Something about all of this didn't seem right. He knew he didn't fall in. No, someone deliberately pushed him. Taking a deep breath, he shoved the thought aside. It didn't matter what happened before, he was here with Eoni and that was all that mattered to him.
"Searian! I found it!" Eoni suddenly exclaimed and Searian rushed over to join them, his soaked pelt pressed against them.
"It's just the moon." He muttered. "We came all this way for this?" Eoni shook their heads.
"No, not for the moon silly. Well I mean yes, but there's more to it. There's a little hidden tunnel down this way and well, as you travel down it, the moon follows. It's amazing. Come on! I'll show you!" They paused as Searian glanced behind him. "You are coming right?" The saber-toothed loon nodded.
     "Yes, I'm coming."
